Miss Sandy (Click Miss Sandy to see more information)

Miss Sandy is the founder/owner and directress of American Montessori schools. She is an AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) certified Montessori teacher. Her experience consists of working with children in 7 different schools around the world and here in Minnesota. She has over 19 years of Montessori experience as a teacher, directress and owner. She is married to Jim Bunnell, a successful system administrator for a global Software Development company, he also does all the accounting and web design work for the school, they have 3 children and 1 dog. She opened American Montessori with 1 student back in 1997, currently we have 2 locations and we have over 70 children and 11 staff members, including our specialty staff. She loves to travel and read.

Miss Zulekha is our certified Kindergarten Montessori teacher. She is AMS (American Montessori Society) certified. She has over 14 years experience and she also holds an Associate Degree in Child Development. She has been with us for the past 9 years. She is married and has 3 children. Her hobbies are music, art and reading.

Miss Jan is our certified Preschool/Kindergarten Montessori teacher. She is AMS (American Montessori Society) certified. She has over 20 years experience and she also holds an Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She has been with us for the past 2 months. She is married and has 2 grown children and a 10 year old granddaughter.

Miss Kate is our certified Preschool teacher. Miss Kate has been with us for over 6 years and has over 7 years of childcare experience. She is married and has 2 children.

Miss Angie is our Toddler Preschool Transition teacher, she has been with us since September 2005. Miss Angie has over 6 years of experience as a childcare provider. She worked as an aide with us back in 2001 - 2002 and now has come to us as our Toddler teacher.

Miss Lindsay is our Pre-K Teacher Assistant, she has been with us since September 2005. Miss Lindsay is currently enrolled at MCTC and is getting teacher certified.

Miss Theresa

Miss Theresa is our Toddler Transition Teacher Aide, she helps in making the toddler and preschool rooms downstairs run smooth.

Our Specialty Staff

Miss Bonnie – Dance/Gymnastics Teacher

Miss Bonnie has been teaching dance for over 12 years. she used to have own dance studio, where the children would compete in dance competitions. She teaches us dance and movement choreographs our school concerts also does tumbling and gymnastics. We are glad to have her here helping our children learn the art of dance.

Miss Natalya – Music Teacher

Miss Natalya has a Master of Fine Arts equivalent in music, with specialization in piano, cello and flute. She is has been teaching piano and cello at all levels since 1978 and is a member of National Minnesota Music Teacher Association. She teaches our students, keyboard lessons, how to read notes, listen to the beats and how to play the flute.

Miss Vivian – Spanish Teacher

Miss Vivian is our Spanish teacher, she is married and has 3 children and speaks fluent Spanish.

Miss Marie - Sign Language Teacher

Miss Marie is our Sign Language Teacher, she has a BA in business management and has been with us since September 2000. She substitutes as needed too.

Miss Lynn - Art Teacher

Miss Lynn is our Art Teacher, she has been fascinated with art since the age of 2. She was the Vice President of Apple Valley High Schools National Art Honor Society and graduated with honors in 2007. Miss Lynn is currently studying to become a pediatrician. Her favorite pastimes besides art include fishing, cooking and most importantly spending time with her family.
